Zoom: You can zoom the map in and out using your middle mouse wheel, by using the zoom slider on the left side of the map, or by using the zoom tools on the navigation toolbar to the right. Click the zoom in tool and drag a box on the map to zoom in. Click the globe button to zoom out to the full state level. Use the zoom previous and zoom next buttons to navigate between map extents.
Pan: You can move the map in any direction by clicking and holding the left mouse button, dragging the map, and releasing the mouse button.
Search Options:
Search By Location: enter an address and choose a search radius from the list to retrieve the child care facilities that fall within that area. The results will be ordered based on distance from the submitted address. The results will also show on the map as yellow dots and will be numbered to match the results in the Search Results section.
Search By Name: enter all or part of a particular child care facility's name to see if there is a match in the database.
Results:
Search Results: if multiple results are returned through a location search or name search, this section will automatically open and show the results. Clicking on the name of a child care facility will open the Detail section and zoom the map to that location.
Detail: this section shows the detailed information about a specific child care facility. It is populated by either choosing a record from the Search Results section, or by clicking on a dot in the map.
Click individual child care facility on the map to identify:
Facilities will be shown on the map as red dots (those selected from a location search). You can single-click on any dot to retrieve detailed information about the child care facility at that location in the Detail section, which will automatically open. The facility will be highlighted with a large, blue dot.
Toolbar buttons:
Aerial Photography: If the background of the map shows the standard street map, clicking this button will change the background to the aerial imagery map.
Street Map: If the background of the map shows aerial imagery, clicking this button will change the background to the standard street map.
Zoom In: Click this button and then drag a box on the map to zoom in.
Full Extent: Click this button to zoom out to the full exent of the state.
Zoom Previous: Click this button to zoom back to the previous map extent. If you have not zoomed the map yet, this button will be deactivated.
Zoom Next: Click this button to zoom to the next map extent. If you are at the most recent map extent, this button will be deactivated.
Pan: Click this button and then click and hold on the map to drag it in any direction you would like to move. Release the button to refresh the map.
Identify: Click this button and then click on an individual child care facility in the map. The detailed site information will show in the Detail section.
Zoom Results: Clicking this button will zoom the map to the extent of the search area ring. The button is disabled when no search area results are present.
