Map Navigation:
Zoom: You can zoom the map in and out using your middle mouse wheel, by using the zoom slider on the left side of the map, or by using the zoom tools on the navigation toolbar to the right. Click the zoom in tool and drag a box on the map to zoom in. Click the globe button to zoom out to the full state level. Use the zoom previous and zoom next buttons to navigate between map extents.
Pan: You can move the map in any direction by clicking and holding the left mouse button, dragging the map, and releasing the mouse button.
Search Options:
Search by location: enter an address and choose a search radius from the list to retrieve the offenders that fall within that area.
Search by offender name: enter all or part of a particular offender's name to see if there is a match in the database.
Results:
Search/Identify Results: if multiple results are returned through a location search, name search, or map click, this section will automatically open and show the results. Clicking on an offender's name will open the Offender Detail section and zoom to that offender's location.
Offender Detail: this section shows the detailed information about a specific offender. It is populated by either choosing a record from the Search/Identify Results section, or by clicking on an offender in the map.
Click individual offender on map to identify:
Offenders will be shown on the map as either blue dots or yellow dots (those selected from a location search). You can single-click on any dot to retrieve detailed information about the offender at that location in the Offender Detail section, which will automatically open. The offender will be highlighted with a large, red dot. If multiple offenders are at a particular location, the results will show in the Search/Identify Results section and you may choose an individual record to see detailed information about that offender.
Toolbar buttons:
Aerial Photography: If the background of the map shows the standard street map, clicking this button will change the background to the aerial imagery map.
Street Map: If the background of the map shows aerial imagery, clicking this button will change the background to the standard street map.
Zoom In: Click this button and then drag a box on the map to zoom in.
Full Extent: Click this button to zoom out to the full exent of the state.
Zoom Previous: Click this button to zoom back to the previous map extent. If you have not zoomed the map yet, this button will be deactivated.
Zoom Next: Click this button to zoom to the next map extent. If you are at the most recent map extent, this button will be deactivated.
Pan: Click this button and then click and hold on the map to drag it in any direction you would like to move. Release the button to refresh the map.
Identify: Click this button and then click on an individual historical site in the map. The detailed site information will show in the Site Detail section.
Zoom Results: Clicking this button will zoom the map to the extent of the search area ring. The button is disabled when no search area results are present.
